Your Life Matters

There has been so much talk lately about lives that matter. Black lives matter, White lives matter, All lives matter. So I wanted to chime in with a little nugget that God dropped in my spirit regarding this issue that is going on in our world today. For those who might be confused or discouraged or even for those who need reminding, I want you to know that to God your life matters.

The reason why I think it is important for me to say is because for those who don't know and those who need to be reminded that to God,... our lives matter. It is because of this truth we have hope. When we know that to our Savior, our life matters, it makes all the difference in the world. In John 3:16, it says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosever believeth on Him shall not perish but shall have everlasting life." Yes, God says that your life matters! He would not have sent His only son to die for you if He didn't think your life mattered. I think it is so easy to get caught up and dragged down by the negativity of this world and the news, and even social media, that we begin to forget that our lives really do matter to the Savior of the whole world. A Savior who left paradise in heaven to come down to this earth and die just to save us. Wow! If you never knew it before.... you know it now. Your life matters just that much to God!

You were created for a specific reason and purpose. You may never know whose life you will touch or impact. To Jesus all lives matter! Each life God breathed life into has a purpose connected to it. God created us to bring Him glory but also He give us assignments to touch and help others lives along the way. The sooner we realize that our lives matter, we will also know that every single person on this earth that is living and breathing has a life that matters.

You may feel insignificant and like your voice and gift don't matter on this earth. I want to tell you that it is important that you know you were chosen for this era and this season for a specific reason to make a difference. Don't allow the enemy or the naysayers to trick you into believing the lie that your existance and your gift don't mean anything. Don't get stuck or discouraged by the foolish things that are said out of hatred and darkness.

I remember there was a time when I thought my music didn't matter. I believed that no one would think it was good enough or worth listening to. I had such a fear of rejection and failure it kept me from moving forward and sharing my gifts and also bringing God glory and honor through the gifts He blessed me to have. What I found out is that I really wasn't confident in my calling at that time and in that season of my life. I remember when things began to change and I began to believe in the promises of God over my life. I began to tune out the noise of the naysayers and discouraging comments. I began to ignore the negativity and I began to focus on pleasing the only one who really matters when it comes to my gift and that is my Heavenly Father! When I began to seek His approval and made sure that I did my best and gave God my all. I began to worship with a pure heart and wrote and sang every song to give Him glory I really began to walk in a new freedom like never before. I discovered that my life and my gift did matter to God and to this world. I was called for a specific purpose, and so were each of you. My life doesn't matter any more than any of your lives. There is one thing I know for sure though, my life and your life matters to God!

Meditate on that! God Bless!
